Create your best life with the Goal Setting Series
Reflect, Reset and Transform your Life with the Goal Setting Series

As fall returns to the mountains, the days get shorter, the nights get colder, and the leaves magically transform before our eyes, my mind usually starts to ponder the ways I hope to transform my life as well. This year is no exception. This month, we will kick off the Personal Goal Setting Series.

Seasons of Life

Last year, I began a new career chapter as a nurse executive. This leadership position has beautifully melded my background in project management and nursing. It has been an exciting change and a tremendous season of learning and growth; one I threw myself into with tenacity and grit.

Often, as we navigate the seasons of life, one aspect of our lives takes precedence or dominates over the others. While this may be beneficial for a season, left unchecked, it can lead to stress, exhaustion and burnout.

We find ourselves out of balance.

If that sounds at all familiar, allow me to be the first to admit that that is exactly the season I find myself in right now, and I doubt I am alone.

As a wellness and financial coach, we implement tools to elevate and transform lives. If you find yourself out of balance, stressed out, burnt out, or are a goal crusher looking to implement positive change in your life, I invite you to join me on a 9 part journey of reflection and transformation.

7 Areas of Goal Setting

Throughout this journey, we will be focusing on Ramsey Solutions 7 areas of Goal Setting. When we are healthy in all seven areas, they help us become a happier, whole, more balanced version of ourselves.

Not in any particular order, these areas are:

At a quick glance, you may recognize areas you need to improve or focus on immediately. Others are a bit more subtle. Most of us are naturally drawn to some areas, and we ignore others. For example, I can’t wait to map out my fitness and physical goals, but, I am a huge introvert, and the social category seriously gives me next-level anxiety!

If that sounds like you, you’re in luck. We will also tackle Emotional Goals.

The Goal Map

The tool we are going to use as we work through this goal setting journey is a Goal Map developed from Matthew Kelly’s teaching in his bestselling book “The Rhythm of Life”. It is a three part map.

First, we will set our goal, next we will identify where we are right now, and finally, we simply fill in the steps we need to implement to go from where we are right now, to where we want to be. It’s very simple, but if you are a list loving, visual learner like I am, this exercise makes it very easy to list the steps we need to take to crush those goals!

Are you Ready to make Positive Changes and Elevate your Life?

If you are ready to join me on this Personal Goal Setting journey, download the free Goal Map, grab a cup of coffee, and meet me back here next month when we dive in and tackle our first Area of Goal Setting. (Hint: Get ready to DREAM BIG) I don’t know about you, but I am ready to feel a whole lot less stress and anxiety and create a life of balance, peace, joy, simplicity and happiness! See you next month!

Cheers.
